白い髭のように見えることからこの名が付きました。
落差は約30ｍあり、自然岩の間から染み出た地下水が勢いよく渓流に 流れ落ち、
コバルトブルーにきらめく美瑛川がしぶきを上げている様子を、
間近に見られる「びえい白金温泉街」の観光名所の１つです。
日本でも珍しい「潜流瀑」に分類される滝です。
通称「ブルーリバー」と呼ばれる橋からの眺めもオススメ。
また冬には滝筋と雪の白、岩肌のコントラストが際立つようになり、
滝から上がる水しぶきや湯気が樹木に霧氷を作り出し、より幻想的な景色です。
